Tenants happy with improvements
Spire Homes have kept their promise to invest £20million to
improve homes across Rutland. A five year schedule is in place to
improve tenant’s bathrooms and kitchens, externals and fencing; and
Spire are on target!
Mr. and Mrs. Dalby, who have lived at Johnson
Road in Oakham for six years, have had a new kitchen installed.
“It’s really bright, modern and so much better”, said Mrs.
Dalby, “I hated the original kitchen, but now I love it and I
enjoy cooking in here now”. Their original kitchen was an L
shape and so made it difficult to have a table and chair set in the
kitchen. However, when they asked FWA if they could change it, they
did. “They were very obliging; if we wanted something that was
different they did it for us. Spire and FWA West have been very
responsive, and the improvement service has been great”
Maureen and Mrs Anderson are new neighbours at
South View in Preston. They have recently had external works done
to their homes. Mrs Anderson said “I am so happy here, I love
it. It’s so peaceful. FWA were very polite and chatty and there was
no mess.”
Mr and Mrs Harrison who live in Ketton have
had new fencing and they say it has made a huge improvement. They
originally had a hedge, but were unable to maintain it because of
the work involved. Mrs Harrison said, “We’re so pleased with
the work and I love the new fencing – it was hard work to cut the
hedge by ourselves. The workmen were really good – they cleared
everything away.”
