Spire Homes is committed to working across East
Northamptonshire, Rutland and Bedfordshire to provide affordable
homes. We already own and manage approximately 4,800
affordable homes and are committed to providing more high quality
properties.
With the significant rise in house prices, people increasingly
find themselves unable to afford housing in their area. This can
force them to move away from family and friends or find themselves
living with relatives or living in temporary and unsuitable
housing.
Recognising this growing problem, Spire Homes with Longhurst
Group has an active new property development programme and provides
both affordable homes for rent and homes for low cost ownership and
intermediate housing.
Our development programme delivers homes in urban and
regeneration areas as well as rural communities. We recognise
the challenges that rural communities are facing with the shortage
of affordable housing and continue to work with the Homes and Communities
Agency (HCA) and RHE to deliver excellent quality homes.
We continue to build excellent affordable homes which meet or
exceed the Homes and Communities quality and design standards. This
includes environmental sustainability levels and minimum room sizes
in excess of those in the private sector. It is our ethos to work
proactively and in partnership with communities, local authorities,
the
Homes and Communities
Agency, landowners and developers to maximise the provision of
affordable housing.
