About Us
Spire Homes is a leading provider of quality affordable housing
in East Northamptonshire, Rutland and Wellingborough. We were
formed in February 2001 to receive the transfer of housing stock
from East Northamptonshire Council, to date we have spent over £66
million on improvements to homes.
In February 2006, we formed a partnership with Rutland County
Council to manage the housing service in Rutland. In the
summer of 2009, tenants voted overwhelmingly in favour to transfer
the housing stock to us. We are planning on spending
£21million on improvements over the next 5 years, with work
starting on day one!
Following a consultation with tenants, Spire Homes have
successfully gained charitable status. This means that from
1st April 2011, Spire will operate as a charity,
registered with the charities Commission. Gaining charitable status
will allow Spire Homes to operate for the benefit of local
communities and ensure that it helps those in most need, and more
money can be invested in managing their existing homes and
building new affordable housing.
Tenants are involved in key decisions and are helping to make
neighbourhoods and estates nicer places to live. We have just
been allocated £1.8million to provide new homes for rent and shared
ownership.
Employing over 125 people, with a total of 4,800 homes
including sheltered and supported housing schemes, Spire Homes’
staff represent a ‘can do’ culture who aspire to be the first
choice for quality homes and services and to make a positive
difference to people’s lives.
Spire Homes is part of the Longhurst
Group - a leading provider in housing and care. While we
retain our local independence, we benefit from the shared financial
strength and the broad knowledge and expertise of the Group. See
